From the Pastor

March 2024

Dear Church Family:

Easter is in March this year. As we approach this most holy day, we should reflect on Jesus’ sacrifice to wash away our sins. Simply put, without Jesus’ death on the cross for our sins, no one would have eternal life. Jesus Himself said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). In this statement, Jesus declares the reason for His birth, death, and resurrection—to provide the way to heaven for sinful mankind, who could never get there on their own.

There are many people who only attend church on the “special” Sundays, and they are welcome. Hopefully, these members and visitors will be touched by God in such a way as to return regularly. Let us all pray that occurs for the sake of the glorification of God.

Statistically, most new church members start by being invited by a friend. Easter will be an excellent Sunday to invite friends to our church. It may be easier to do the asking for this holiday.

I do not mean that we should restrict our welcome to just a few days a year. Indeed, we will be asking often in the coming year as our Evangelism expands under the direction of Gary Miley and Arlene Johnston. Pray for the success of the Communication and New Members Committee. Look for changes in our publications and specific evangelism initiatives. Plan to participate. We are in this together to implement the Vision Statement. It starts with you.

God Bless,

Pastor Eric and Debbie
