From the Parsonage...

How quickly things change! Just a couple of

weeks ago, I was thinking about all the spring events

and projects that would be coming up. Now, I’m

wondering which, if any, of these will even take

place. Yes, folks, the coronavirus is taking its toll in

Maineville, just like everyplace else. Many people are

working from home, grocery stores are having trouble

keeping their shelves stocked, hospitals and nursing

homes are going into lock down mode, schools and businesses are temporarily closing, and we’re all being asked to self-quarantine as

much as possible. So much for the plans that we’ve made! Once again,  circumstances remind us that we are not in control!
So, as I write my newsletter article for this month, I’m uncertain about what the next month will hold. As I’ve told many people, I’m not overly concerned about this new threat America is facing. In fact, I’m convinced that the media’s constant “gloom and doom” attitude is overblown and adds to the problems we face. On the other hand, I do believe we need to take this virus seriously when it comes to using
common sense and following the medical precautions needed to stop its spread. God is in control, but He gave us minds for a reason!
I’ve decided to concentrate on the positive and look forward to Spring with a renewed spirit. With that in mind, I’m convinced that this crisis will eventually pass, warm weather will come, the grass will grow, and the trees and flowers will bloom. In the meantime, we may have to make some adjustments to our plans, but we don’t have to discard them.
Our normal Easter activities may look a little different if things are still shut down, but they don’t have to be forsaken. Granted, we may not be able to have the usual Easter Egg Hunt or Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter morning services, but we can come up with creative alternatives on Facebook and YouTube. Jesus didn’t let Satan’s obstacles block Him and neither will we!
That being said, we do miss the fellowship of meeting together on a regular basis and want to keep in touch as much as possible. Again, this is one of those times when Facebook and email really come in handy to share our news, thoughts, and pictures. If you need anything specific during these troublesome times (whether it’s a prayer need or just to talk), please contact us. You know where we live…and you know the number! We love each and every one of you!

Blessings,

Dona
