felt I had to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted

to the saints.”  Jude v. 3  (NIV)

 

          I was thinking about the event I attended last month, a Watchmen on the Wall seminar for pastors.  Watchmen on the Wall was founded by Family Research Council (FRC), which is somewhat connected with Focus on the Family.  I know I have listened to Dr. James Dobson for quite some time and, because of him, there is a wealth of resources for the Christian family to draw from.  One of the speakers, besides Tony Perkins, who is the President of FRC, was Lt. Gen. (Ret.) William G. “Jerry” Boykin, Executive Vice President of FRC.  To give a brief overview of Lt. Gen. Boykin, this is what I pulled up from FRC:

 

          Lt. Gen. Boykin was one of the original members of the U.S. Army's Delta Force.  Jerry was privileged to ultimately command these elite warriors in combat operations.  Later, he commanded all the Army's Green Berets as well as the Special Warfare Center and School.  In all, Lt. Gen. Boykin spent 36 years in the army, serving his last four years as the Deputy Undersecretary of Defense for Intelligence.  He is an ordained minister with a passion for spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ and encouraging Christians to become warriors in God's Kingdom.

          Lt. Gen. Boykin spoke about a book written in 1958 called The Naked Communist, by W. Cleon Skousen, Arnold Friberg.  In this book, Skouson (a former FBI special agent) lays out 45 goals the communists plan to use to infiltrate and overcome America.   Same as what we are up against today.  I won’t go into all the details, but it was read into the Congressional Record by Congressman Albert S. Herlong, Jr. of Florida on January 10, 1963.  Here are a few of them abbreviated:

 

          17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for     Socialism...

          19. Use student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations that are under Communist attack.

          20. Infiltrate the press.  Get control of book review assignments, editorial writing, policy-making positions.

          21. Gain control of key positions in radio, TV, and motion pictures.

          22. Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all forms of artistic expression.

          24. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them “censorship” and a violation of free speech and free press.

          25. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV.

          26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy, and promiscuity as “normal, natural, and healthy.” 

          27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with “social” religion.  Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity, which does not need a “religious crutch.”

          Look at those again.  Take over the culture, encourage co-habitation, get children away from families, support gay movements, get rid of religion, destroy family and schools, breakdown normal standards of morality, control media, and infiltrate churches to make social religion more important than revealed religion.  Sad to say, but they have been doing a pretty good job, haven’t they?

          We are called to be bold for the faith.  I have a notebook and several handouts for anyone to look at and see if they are interested in starting up

a Culture Impact Team at this church.  Pray.  Pray for our children, because they will ultimately be the recipients of a cultural downfall.  As Jude wrote, “Contend for the Faith.”  God bless.
