Holy Communion

Here at Maineville Lighthouse Church, we celebrate Holy Communion on the first Sunday of every month.  Communion is open to all who acknowledge Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

It's been our custom for the congregation to come forward to the altar, where they then dip the bread (symbolizing the body of Christ) into the cup (symbolizing the blood of Christ) as a token of their acceptance and remembrance of His sacrifice.  Those with difficulty walking are served at their seats.

However, in our continued response to the previous COVID situation, we are currently using packaged communion cups which are available next to the weekly bulletins at the entry doors.

This Holy Communion is not limited to church members but is freely offered to all believers who are present.

"And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, 'This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.' "In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, 'This cup

is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.'"

Luke 22:19,20
